Be a Volunteer!

ASCI seeks adventurous souls to join our 2008 crew of volunteers. Back for the second year, the Whitewater Slalom Nationals are being held at ASCI, and volunteer support is needed to pull off this exciting event. Assistance is needed with athlete and spectator services, registration, raft race timing and technical support (timing, gate judging). Follow up race day (August 30) with a run down the Savage River (August 31 – tentative release) and still have Labor Day, Monday, to enjoy all that the Deep Creek Lake area has to offer.

October is another beautiful time in Garrett County, and another opportunity to be involved with a world class event. Oct. 3 and 4, ASCI hosts the World Series – American Open. We’re anticipating even more athletes and have needs for even more volunteers to run this two day event.

Here’s your chance to get involved at the only mountaintop recirculating whitewater course, the rock climbing and hiking venues at Fork Run Recreation Area, and to be a part of exciting outdoor events for the season. Work alongside ASCI's dynamic staff members who run the facilities, and meet some of the world’s top athletes who come here to play and compete.

Volunteers receive not only the intrinsic rewards of being involved in something fun and meeting people from all over the world, but also those materialistic things we all love: event tee shirts, food, free tickets to events, other cool ASCI swag, and/or time on the white water course.
